Bio

Shawn Brady was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 25, 1982.  The youngest of seven children (six living), Shawn enjoyed growing up surrounded by his siblings.  At the age of two, Shawn's family moved to a new home in West Jordan, Utah, where his parents still live to this day.  The best part about this new home was the large backyard which allowed for lots of running and playing.

Shawn's boyhood was filled with love, family, and fun activities.  Soccer and his church were two of the most influential.  Additionally, Shawn learned from his family the joy of hard work.  Together they built a gazebo, a shed, and a family cabin.  These projects helped to strengthen Shawn's love for designing and building things.

Shawn attended West Jordan High School.  During his high school years Shawn participated in volleyball, concert choir, madrigals, and marching band.  Additionally, Shawn achieved his Eagle Scout award through the Boy Scouts of America.  Shawn graduated, with a 3.9 GPA, in June 2001.  After graduating from high school, Shawn served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Brazil.  He served, taught, and worked among the people there, learning Portuguese through the experience, for two years, returning in December 2003.

After returning home from his mission to Brazil, Shawn began his college education at the University of Utah.  While working and studying his way through college, Shawn met and fell in love with Kristen Dorff, a local junior high teacher.  They were married in the LDS Jordan River temple on July 28, 2007, and set up their first home in West Jordan. They have since moved to Port Angeles, Washington, and have found that they are happy with and enjoy exploring all parts of the country.

Shawn and Kristen took every opportunity to serve in their church, and Shawn was asked to work with the scouting program.  Using knowledge attained through his experience with scouting, Shawn was able to help the Cobble Creek 2nd Ward and the Port Angeles 1st Ward, of the LDS church, understand more fully how they could help their boys enjoy and grow from the scouting program.

A new adventure began in Shawn's life when, in May 2009, his daughter, Natalie, was born.  In August 2011, a son, Matthew, joined the family.  Shawn found great joy in being a father, but also great responsibility to provide, care for, and love his young and growing family.

Shawn continued to work hard, and graduated from the University of Utah, in Mechanical Engineering, with a 3.27 GPA, in May 2010.

Shawn is currently working as a Project Engineer at Nippon Paper Industries, in Port Angeles, Washington.
